Performs skilled painting and a wide variety of general maintenance duties for the purpose of completing projects within established time frames in a safe and efficient manner for East Campus Housing. Perform all necessary housing repairs to make ready homes for move-in, this includes but is not limited to trash removal, mowing, painting, minor plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance, vinyl/carpet repair and carpentry. Perform resident maintenance work order requests and preventative maintenance as needed on occupied homes in a timely manner. Coordinate with team leader for the purpose of completing projects and work orders efficiently. Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of vehicles, equipment and supplies. Exhibit strong communication skills both written and verbal. Ability to cultivate relationships built on trust and confidentiality with a diverse population. Must always maintain a high level of professional at all times, especially when dealing with resistance or hostility. Required to provide an exemplary level of customer service to all internal, external customers, tenants, vendors, community leaders, etc. Must maintain professionalism in demeanor, work-style and dress. Required to demonstrate a strong work ethic with the ability to exercise good judgement and complete evaluations, and maintain required documentation in a timely fashion. Must be able to stand on or in wet areas to clean clogged lines and fixtures as well as withstand odors typically occurring with clogged fixtures/pipelines and with painting and refurbishing. Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull and maneuver objects up to 50 pounds and be able to maneuver heave objects in excess of 200 pounds with assistance of others and/or appropriate equipment. Working Conditions - Must be willing to work a flexible schedule (days, nights, weekends, holiday's, varying events, on-call emergency maintenance and overtime if necessary.) Working Environment - This position operates in Amarillo College rental homes and various campus facilities and require work with little to no supervision.
