Responsible for the leadership, coordination, integration and supervision of the Allied Health departments, ADN program, VN program, and the division of Continuing Healthcare Education. Ensures compliance of health sciences programs with policies and procedures of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB), the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools COC, and other external accreditors. Responsible for the enforcement of policies and procedures of Amarillo College. Travel is required in this position. Develop the vision for, lead, and coordinate all programs in the Health Science Division. Supervise and direct the assignments of division personnel. Ensure appropriate personnel. Conduct annual program advisory committee meetings in accordance with criteria established by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board and specific program accreditation requirements. Provide curricular leadership by initiating, sustaining, delivering or eliminating academic programs and school core curricula. Evaluate scheduling of courses and recommend implementation of additional courses or deletion of courses not needed. Prepare reports, plans, and analyses to document and advance Health Science Division activities, initiatives and development. Responsible for budgets and distribution of appropriate funds for travel, etc. Develop budgets for academic programs and departments aligned with strategic goals, assessment, and enrollment. Ensure faculty are hired and maintain appropriate credentials as required by accreditors and AC policies. Serve as liaison officer with accrediting agencies which evaluate the Health Science programs and successfully leads/supervises accreditation efforts for health sciences programs. Evaluate faculty workload assignments for each semester. Review curriculum change proposals and makes recommendations. Develops long-range staffing plans. Assist in the development and review of academic policies. Make recommendations on all-college policies and procedures. Participate in college-wide strategic planning activities. Work as part of a college-wide leadership team to implement projects aligned with the Amarillo College strategic plan. Maintain currency with higher education trends, particularly with regard to Health Sciences programs. Participate in the VPAA Council meetings, initiatives, and activities. Collaborate with leadership on other campuses to address staffing and program needs. Implement and enforce the policies and procedures of Amarillo College. Foster use of high impact practices and learner-centered pedagogies. Develop proactive plans, programs, and projects for the Division of Health Sciences to increase revenue, enrollment, completions, and performance on other relevant metrics.
